Terracotta tiles
Our clay is taken from the Bovitello quarry, just like the ancient clay workers of Collesano, called “ stazzunari”. The terracotta tiles are still achieved by adopting manual processing techniques.
The result obtained shows a laborious and careful preparation:from the mixing of the clay, to the slow drying, and then finishing with the firing at about 1000 degrees.
This gives firmness and strength to the tile that is not affected by exposure to the elements. Both the presence of lava sand in the mixture and manual processing make all of our products refractory materials, allowing them to find place also in the linings of furnaces, fireplaces and built-in kitchens. Our terracotta tiles are also used as bases of our handmade maioliche.
